Topgun: I'm jealous!! I just ordered the exact same rifle and will have the dadblasted 10-day wait when it arrives. Should be out shooting it in about three weeks. :banghead: Oh, well, at least that rifle looks like it will be worth the wait.

Topgun, very nice. I have to wait 3 more days to pick up my kel-tec su-16. Talk about a stupid law, if I wanted to shoot myself or somebody else I wouldn't wait 10 days I would just grab one of my other guns. Mark

Here in Virginia it was, until recently, legal for localities to implement handgun purchase permits, which created a de facto waiting periods of sorts, given that (in Virginia Beach at least), the Precinct that issued he permits was only open until 4:00 PM, Mon - Fri. Virginia Beach actually got rid of their purchase permit before the state made local purchase permits illegal, but before they did so Virginia Beach touted the fact that a man had once come in and submitted a purchase permit application and had written that his reason for buying a gun (a field on the application) was to commit suicide. :scrutiny: Gee, that sounds like somebody who was really serious about committing suicide. The funny thing is I've talked to gun store workers who can recall dozens of people coming in with validly issued purchase permits (which supposedly required a NICS check before you got it), who actually failed the NICS check when called in at the gun store due to various violent felonies!

Oh gosh, our law is a GOOD one. See, if I didn't have to wait for it, I could go to a liquor store and set the bipod on the counter and then dial the scope to the low power and yell, "STICK EM UP!"

Or, worse yet, I could go down the street, set up the bipod, put on my muffs, take a deep breath and hold it, and then use a BULLHORN to yell "STICK EM UP!" to the whole BLOCK cuz I got da range on em.

...........................

Gettin mine in .223 cuz I got about 8 jillion rounds of mil ammo to use up. Spose I'll hafta get a box of HP if I decide to look for a squirrel or sumpin.

I still got the Mini-14 but that ammo is so overflowing that I figgered I should have something I could hit sumpin SMALL with.
