I recently obtained a Mossberg 185k bolt-action 20gauge. The factory magazine holds 2 rounds, and was advertised as a "3 shot repeater". Are there any higher-capacity magazines out there? All I know about the gun is the model number, and that it was made prior to 1968, as it does not have a serial number.

Mossberg made a very small run of 395 Law Enforcement shotguns that featured 4 shot magazines but I think finding one of those magazines would cost you an amount of money that would purchase a whole 395 shotgun!
In other words, there were larger capacity magazines made and they are now considered more collectable than the guns.

OK, my next question would be: Does anyone know where I could get a high capacity magazine from a 2-round factory magazine?

Change my answer,Numrich Gun Parts is showing 5 shot 12 guage Mossberg 395 magazines available for about $27.00 each.
That is as good a price as you will find if they actually have them.
