Dr. Jones, I thought about you when I started this thread. Your comments on the wordy liberals thread got me to thinking.

I wonder what would happen if all the thousands of THR readers formed a liberal word of the month club and "deconstructed" one word, came up with an alternative and used it diligently? Imagine 10,000 people using a word three times per day for a month, that is nearly a million uses and more than an adequate exposure for it in the public eye!

The word I'd choose for March 2003 is "Progressive."

Libbies use this to describe themselves like as in the progressive wing of the democratic party. What an oxymoron! They use it to describe tax and spend schemes, calling wealth confiscation progressive taxation. Basically what they mean is they are following Sutton's Law and going where the money is.

OK boys and girls! What does "Progressive" REALLY mean and what is a better word? Maybe a catch phrase? Maybe something less offensive than my word PETAphile which never caught on after a year of diligent effort?

Progressive never means you have to say you're spending your own money? Naa too long!

Poorgressives? Naa, not defamatory enough!

Progressthieves? Maybe.

A partial list should include:

* Jingoistic : Lefties love to insult anyone who might agree with a position of strength as a good thing as Jingoistic.

* Misogyny : Anyone who does not fully accept the Utterly brilliant logic of N.O.W. in knee jerk manner is Misogynistic.

* Phallus : Those who enjoy firearms as a hobby are exessively phallus infatuated.

* Corporate Hegemony : The government is run by Corporate Hegemons of coarse. In other words...Capitalism is the people's enemy.

* Oligarchy : ie: Stay out da Bushes Amurika!

* Fundamentalist : Any non-state religion, especially one that does not have abortion as its sacrament.

* Uninsured : Any individual who chooses not to carry insurance. Such as single, young entrepenuers.

* Hawks : Those who think the military should kill people and break things!!!! Gasp!!!!!!!!

* Crisis : Anything that cannot be solve via trillions of unconstitutional, involuntary tax money yet desperately requires five times as much unconstitutional, involuntary tax money for the sole purpose of someone's feelings.

* Society : All 14 year old girls jabber on about this.

* Investment : ie. taxation.

* "The Rich" : ie. you.

* "The work of the People" : Anything that is a Subvertion of the constitution.

* Reparation : Combination of the former three above. IOW, see "Investment", "The Rich", and "The work of the People".

The must be more.....

Try to make them as catchy and funny as Rush's word Feminazi! :D

We need to come up happy alternatives to all their nasty words and nasty alternatives for their warm fuzzy happy words.

progressive (adj). delusional state which leads the individual to believe that they are true leaders in the field of (whatever - truth, liberty, equal whatever, and so on) and that therefore everyone will eventually follow after them as they become more enlightened over time.
