range bag for carbine folder

anybody have a good recommendation for a moderately priced bag to carry a carbine with folding stock in?

i don't need all the pockets for throwing stars and flame-throwers, but something with fairly stiff sides would be nice, so that i can sew some elastic mag holders to the side. (mags are grease gun mags, so the bag needs to be taller than it is wide)

flexible enough that i can shove it into tight spaces, but heavy duty enough to hold several boxes of 45acp.

now that i'm thinking about it, i think the style that would have the ultimate utility would be something slung over one shoulder instead of carried like a duffle bag... and relatively wide and flat. just thick enough for the gun. it could unfold, kind of like a small version of a shooting mat, with a padded place for the gun on one half, and a dozen elastic mag holders on the other side.

hmmm.... humorously, this is starting to sound like a typical soft-gun case. but i really wanted something less conspicuous, and more like a bag or backpack, so that i can hold some targets and ammo boxes etc.

any ideas?

#107 listed under rife cases...

i use this for my storm, it's built heavy, but with no pockets...

comes in 28" and 32"

you could easily sew mag pouches on with a machine, but you'd have to have a HEAVY needle... wouldn't be such a big problem to sew on a shoulder strap...

Bagmaster might be a good option....I prefer a hard case but thats just me..

yesterday's has a good point...ya could just modify it yourself and save some money...I made a day planner into a CCW rig for my lawyer's Christmas present for next to nothing a couple of years ago ...

Any saddle shop could sew it for ya for a small fee...

What overall length do you need?

We carry American made Bagmaster Heavy Weapons Cases in 30", 36", 42", and 62", and we have all sizes in stock. (Bagmaster is going to stop making the 30" as it's not in the new catalog, but we have it in stock.)

the rifle is 17" overall. that "small duffle bag" might be just what i need. i could pad it out myself and stow the thing vertically with room for several mags inside.

hmmmm
