A brand new, laser-cut to exacting military specs, heat-treated front sight. There is also a brand new, high quality knurled aluminum end cap.

Rear sight, brand new, French-style peep sight on the rear dioptor with a knurled target knob for adjustable windage without the use of special tools.

A brand new fully machined trunnion manufactured to original German military specifications. to our knowledge, ours is the ONLY new trunnion on the market.

I just noticed this gun on page 41 of CDNN's newest flyer..

I wonder how good they are..They have them listed for $789.00, which doesn't sound that bad. I wonder if the gun is a lemon or not..;) ;)

Tamara, the ad in CDNN says that they are called a "PTR-91" 308 Target and that's it..

No full name is given.;)

Here's the website.

If it's good it'd make a nice Billy Zane Sniper Project. :D

After doing a search I came up with this name.. JL Denter.
PTR=Precision Target Rifle

I can't find this gun on their site, just a section called 'parts kits' but, they don't actually show anything.;)

Got this in a "new product" update from one of my dealer associations.

And they are in no way associated with SW. The company is in CT.

I'll know more when I contact them for terms.

From the specs they are on the right track, German Spec, polygon barrel and two stage target trigger. Suppossedly the sticker price will be under $1000.

I was wondering if they had ties to Todd's SW...;)

Steyr Aug, that is music to my ears..:D

another48hrs, LOL nice photo cut and paste. Are you a certified Special Weapons armorer? :D

Seriously though I was thinking along the same lines given the Poly Hbar and two stage trigger.

"Are you a certified Special Weapons armorer? "
That's low blow SteyrAUG, hehe:D. Judging by the photochopped picture I posted, I too would believe I do the design work for SW.(Tactical Weapon's Website= :barf: ) I don't know the quality of his products, but the design is just wrong.

Back to the clone..
I am torn by half a dozen different choices, including two AK's and a couple of FAL varients. I also saw that one in CDNN's latest issue. Somebody buy one and tell me if they are any good.
I don't wanna be the guinea pig..:D
Currently, I could muster the money for one of them, but not all.
It really sucks, but I have to prioritize.:(

Some interesting information. Turns out CDNN does not have, and never did have, these rifles. HOWEVER, they have them listed on their "Closeouts" page at a below dealer cost.

I'm wondering how you have a liquidation sale on firearms you never had in inventory. Of course CDNN is famous for this type of thing and why I don't use them as a reliable supplier.

After a bit more poking around I don't think ANYONE has these rifles yet I'm gonna go to the source this week and see what I can find out.

Huh?? Then why would they show them in their flyer??

That was not a very nice thing to do..:fire:

They do it CONSTANTLY.

Drives me nuts.

First I get guys all day long thinking I can get them one that cheap. Then when I occassionally consider using them as a source, they don't have it at all, never did, and often never will.

Will the wide forearm be offered as an option, and if not, will it still be capable of taking the wide forearm?

I wonder when they are going to be avalible? I called CDNN today and they said to call back next week.

CDNN might never get them.

I have heard from a few places that the deal fell through.

One of the many reasons I don't do business with CDNN.
