My gun dealer/indoor range who I've known for quite a while has a VERY SLIGHTLY used FN Hi Power for sale in his case. It looks brand new.
It is LNIB and is priced at $575 total "out the door".

He said that a lady recently came into the store and bought this gun for $575 + tax along with a 20-round box of Federal Hydra-Shoks. She took the gun into the range area and fired those 20 rounds and then took the gun home. A couple of weeks passed and then she brought the Hi Power back and traded it in on something else (decided on a revolver, I think). The dealer gave her $575 back (no tax) on a different gun.

This probably won't appeal to Hi Power "traditionalists", but this FN Hi Power has the SFS (Safety Fast Shooting) hammer firing system. Even though the magazine disconnect is still intact, the stock trigger pull is very crisp and reasonably light..sweeeeeet! Since it was technically "used", I was permitted to shoot 50 rounds to see if it was satisfactory. I liked it A LOT!

Is $575 out the door too much? This price is definitely firm.

$575's not bad. I paid $550 for a NIB one at a gunmonger's shop here in Austin not known for its low prices. I seem to remember than CDNN had them for cheaper than that ($499?) a while back though

As for the gun itself I couldn't be happier. Great trigger, accurate & reliable.

www.ordnanceoutsellers.com can get you a much better price for a NIB SFS.

$575 is pretty high for a used one, especially with the deal CDNN is having as others have mentioned.

You should think about printing the Hi-Power page out of their catalog and showing him, depending on how reasonable of a guy he is.
