Here are some pics of my SW1911 with the new trigger I put in. I just hated the cosmetics of the stock trigger, and wanted a black trigger.

How can you live with those atrocious roll marks?

Good-looking gun....reminds me of my old Kimber Classic Stainless LE. I like the black controls on a stainless frame.

Here's a pic of the 15yd target shot standing, but the gun was rested.

You're a good photographer. You must have a camera with a good closeup lens. I like the control of lighting and the colorful background.

Thanks pogo2 for the nice comments.

Nice looking gun ;) I really like the stainless/black contrast! Judging from the target, looks like an accurate piece too...congrats

I just haven't read very much about these S&W 1911's. Other than that outside extractor, are the other parts all 1911 parts like any other 1911?
It sure looks like that beaver tail is the same. The pictures are great. I like the way the black looks on the shiny frame too. I'm even starting to get used to those roll marks.<shrug> Who knows? I (very easily) talk myself into new guns all the time. Thus, the need for a bigger safe.

Hey there Kentucky Rifle,

Yea, all the other parts except for the extractor are pure 1911. You sound like me, I can talk myself into just about any gun. I had to buy a big safe about 2 years ago, never have regretted it.

I guess there's no accounting for taste, why anyone would want black highlights on a white gun is beyond me :barf: ;)

The gun looks like a pretty nice package to me. But that "SW1911" has got to go... I'd have it ground off the gun myself. :D

I like your new trigger and the external extractor, but the letterspacing in "SW1911" is utterly amateuristic. It looks like some secretary concocted it in Microsoft Word, ran it through a laser printer, and handed it to the stamp maker—and it's horrendously oversized!

If I couldn't set type better than that, I'd get a job flipping hamburgers.

A sans-serif font would look better even if it was just as large. With a little more spacing between the SW and the 1911. Without the serifs (the little wings on the 1's) the 1's could be closer together too.

If the gun is quality, I could learn to live with the rollmark. Especially if it was about $550 (I'm cheap).

I don't want to be intrusive, but did you buy the gun retail and could you give us some idea of what these are going for ? I understand if you refuse.

What's the going price of S&W 1911 $$??

I gave $700 plus tax for my gun. The trigger is out of an older Isreali 1911 that I sold off a while back. I just couldn't deal with the cosmetics of the trigger that came in the gun.

I paid $730 in central Illinois.

I like that group of shots.:)

Looks like a one inch group with a flyer at 15 yards? So about three inches at 50 yards or so?
If that's true, that is a truly acceptable pistol.:D

To use it in NRA bullseye, we have to get rid of the front slide serrations. And I have to agree the big letters on the slide are tacky. (I've never like Louis Vitton bags, either.):scrutiny:

$750 is not a large price for a new pistol these days.

Now if they'd just make it in blue for us old guys.....:what:

Just what the world needs, another $750 1911...

And that looks like a 2 inch group at 15 yds to me.

OK guys, I just measured the target. With the flyer it measures 1 3/8", discounting the flyer it is exactly 3/4"................
