i need to find out about a J West Paul Elite 12 ga SXS double hammer muzzleloader. finish is 90%+. stock is uncracked w/ steel buttplate. loading rod in 100% intact and unwarped or cracked. overall condition would be 90%+. shotgun has a pheasant hand engraved on one side and a fox on the other. perfect working condition.

First, get it to a qualified gunsmith and see if it's stil LOADED! Many old muzzleloaders still are.

Ask down on Harley's forum, but I think this is an inexpensive double made from questionable steel or even iron in those barrels.

Once it's certified safe, a nice wallhanger and that's about it, IMO.
