I haven't seen him around here since the end of last year. Anybody know if he's doing okay?

I check on him every couple of days and another very kind member sees Sam for coffee almost every day. Sam will be back.

I've also have kept tabs on Sam. Yep, he'll be back. Same old Sam--witty, sense of humor, good advice as always.

And btw, he did not get lost taking one of his "shortcuts"

Good man that C.R. Sam.

Wasn't it shakespeare that said:

"Brevity is the soul of wit."

CR Sam says more with less than anyone on these forums.

Best wishes, Sam!

Sam's not only an authority on firearms, he's a FOUNTAIN of knowledge on all the old airplanes I love so much. It's probably already been posted by now but, did you know Sam is/was a jet pilot? The things he tells me just make me spellbound. I could listen to Sam forever.

I have at times entertained the suspicion that C.R. Sam is a prepubescent 15-year-old hacker boy living with his longshoreman uncle in an apartment above a dry-cleaner in Hoboken, NJ. On the net, you never really know.

dance varmint - - -Your suspicion is incorrect.

C.R.Sam is indeed the real deal. A staffer from "SWAT" magazine visited with him in person, and even used a couple of photos in an article. He's getting a bit aged, perhaps, but could serve as illustration for a poster about, "Don't Mess With Old Folks! You just never know . . . ."

I venture to say Sam wishes he was 15 years old again, won't tell his real age but him and the rocks are pretty close.

Good man that C.R. Sam I am.

Got his picture on the wall above the computer, wearing a brace of S&W revolvers and getting ready to touch one off.

That was back in the days he still had that swizz 696 stainless debacal that he curses to this day when it became a hand grenade.

Wish I had one...that worked well.

Good to hear Sam's OK. I'm not the oldest around here (work) but I do take it upon myself from time to time to remind the young ones that age and experience will overcome youth and strength almost every time. Good health and godspeed Sam.

A word of warning to anyone traveling with Sam, when he says he knows a short cut...remember the Burmuda Triangle.

I think he invented it. :D

But eventually he finds his way back if the birds don't eat all the bread crumbs he leaves a trail of. A trip to town can take several loaves.

Sam is taking it easy with the high heat in his locality, with temps of 121 in the shade of his porch one doesn't move around a whole lot.

If I was him I would head for one of the nearby caves where it is a lot cooler.

Arizona is a beutiful place to live but it gets too dang hot.
