I went to load some 7.62x54R ammo awhile ago and I found that the holes in my RCBS loading block are too small to fit the 7.62x54 rim. Can anyone tell me where to find one that will fit?

If you have access to a drill press and some scrap wood you can make your own. Various sizes are also available from places like Grafs.com MidwayUSA.com and others. I frequently use trays from pistol ammo boxes as loading trays because I'm really cheap ;)

I found one at Cabelas that goes up to .460 Weatherby. According to my manuals it has a bigger rim than the '54R so it should work.
I also have a loading block that is a recycled .45ACP cartridge holder. I am cheap too but nothing I can scrounge will fit the '54R. I don't have the time to make one right now so I'll have to buy one.

Midway is having an inventory reduction on Winchester wooden blocks. You might want to check them out. I'm grabbing a few different sizes........

When loading for my 45/70, I use a shotgun block. It works fine.

I found them at Midway. Ordered two tonight along with 500 more peices of brass and some bullets. They are for the 460 Wby with a .665 diameter hole. The '54 is a .570 IIRC so they should plunk right down in there.
Thanks.
