How about a Sunday afternoon meet&shoot at Coal Creek Armory? Enough time to attend the show at the I-75 Expo Center in the morning and then show up to show off and shoot your new toys in the early afternoon? Anybody game? What'd be a good time for y'all?

Any out-of-towners that need a place to stay are welcome to crash in our guest apartment/dojo/gym/sewing room.

Unduly unruly guests will be duct taped to a tree and spread with sausage gravey for the neighborhood dogs to deal with.

I could probably be free around 3:30 or so, but that's probably too late.

Well, we're open 'til 5:00 PM.

It'd be cool to put more names with faces.

I'd be open to being open "extended hours" for this little get together.

Make it a pseudo private affair.

I'd like to make it, but I'm working this weekend. Seems I work most weekends. :uhoh:

I will be coming by today to shoot the THR Nov/Dec virtual match.

I won't be making it in for a couple weeks, but maybe by then there'll be something going on?

Heh, if it goes well enough maybe it'll recur.

If it recurs well enough, maybe we'll be a 'club' unto ourselves...

If it goes well it could very well become a frequent event.

Isn't the range going to be flooded with Sunday shooters on Sunday afternoon?

GreenFurniture
December 10, 2004, 11:16 PM
Sunday won't be crowded at all. Even if we get things kicked off early we're willing to stay late so that this event can be worth while to all who participate.

Besides, now that those other guys are gone you ain't got no reason to stay away, Marco! Come on in, the water is fine.

Bring your Nova and some stompin' 3" slugs. Ask for lane ten.

Hey, it worked once. ;)

Lane 10? Two words: Bench rest.

I'd really like that. Haven't met any members ftf. Had several deals on THR.I'll be at the show with a Beretta 92FS SS with 7 hi-cap mags. Asking $600.00 for all or trade for 1911's. mkbeg3@yahoo.com if interested.

Did I just "hear" Jonathan say he's going to have the range open after 5 so our little group can have it all to themselves?

Maybe. Depends on how much fun we're all having. We do have subguns for rent so you just never know.

Look for Byron Quick and myself somewheres around 3:00. :)

Hope you guys had fun. I got back from pimping knives at the gunshow to find the kitchen exploded all over the place, my wife in a manic Taz frenzy weilding cleaning supplies and paint, our six year old forted up in the living room in front of the TV, and piles of (thankfully, seperated) laundry demanding attention. Suffice it to say I had less fun than ya'll last night.

You missed a good 'un. We had a really good turn out and it was nice to be able to put faces with names. Hopefully we can make this a monthly thing, and maybe an "after hours" thing so we can play all night with some of the more provocative toys and experiments.

It was a pretty good meet in my eyes, though we oughtta have nametags or molon labe hats or something, I was there for a couple hours shooting my heart out (not literally) before I met anyone, and that's only 'cause I recognized Tamara and she introduced me :)

That's honestly the first time I'd ever stayed on the range so long I was sore afterwards :) Guess I need to work on my stance...

It was, indeed, enjoyable. We had GreenFurniture (of course, :D ), Byron Quick, mfree, Marko Kloos, and myself. There was shooting, chatting, some drooling on guns, and other enjoyable activities.

There's been talk about making this a monthly thing, so suggestions on a good date in January would be swell. :)

Well, since I missed this event and I have only one Sunday off in January, I recommend the 30th as the best date for another meet.

Make sure the MP5 is well lubed. :D

Thirtieth works for me too... it's a ways off, BUT, that'll give me time to get my revolver off layaway :D

I'm having grand visions... something about 10,000 rounds per person, overnight shoot, media coverage (free advertising), maybe tie it with some kind of charity event...

But then it's not my shop :) I'm simply a dreamer...

I'm trying hard to massage my schedule into having a free sunday. I think in a few weeks I could make it, as long as you guys don't mind me coming. I'm the quiet type. :)

I don't have the money to do the newbie buys the ammo bit, but I could bring pizza.

If work permits I will be there. Depends on the "population" at work and what time we get together.

GreenFurniture
January 17, 2005, 09:59 PM
Time is flexible. We could make it an "after hours" get together if enough people warranted. If not we could always just set a time and show up when we can between 12p and 5p.

Either way, I'm sure we'll have a great time!

out of curiosity, what calibers are we not allowed to shoot on this range?

out of curiosity, what calibers are we not allowed to shoot on this range?

Handgun calibers and rimfires are generally okey-dokey. Centerfire rifle calibers are generally a no-no, except for oddities like .30 Carbine. What were you planning on bringing?

Oh, and I will definitely be there. With bells on.

taliv
January 27, 2005, 12:43 AM
.45 acp carbine (that still counts as pistol, right?)
and .480 ruger

i'll leave the rifles at home
