SBE 2nd Gen

I've got an old Mag 10 that I've cut down, lengthened the forcing cone, Robared, and NP3'd, and got 5 Briley chokes for. I use it exclusively for waterfowl. Problem is that it still swings like a 2X4, and sometimes getting shells can be a adventure. Of course there is the price of recoil, and as I get older I don't like getting pounded any more than I have to. With the advent of Hevi shot, I don't know that the Mag 10 can compete any longer, even if all I do is shoot 3 inch out of the 12 using the Hevi's. I've been eyeing the 2nd Gen SBE in the advertisements in the various gun mags. I have yet to see one in real life. Does anyone know of a review online, or better yet have one of these that can give me some feedback?

I've owned an SBE, I would assume it was first gen since I am not aware of there being a second gen.......
I would advise you to look at the Winchester SuperX2, mine is more reliable and much softer shooting than the SBE I had and the SBE's owned by guys I hunt with. If you buy an SBE pick up a used one, the beating you take on resale of one you bought new hurts, trust me it HURTS!!!
Also be aware that the recoil of the 3.5" 12's when using 3.5" shells is FAR worse than the mag 10, 3" loads are comparable to your 10. The extra couple pounds of weight on the 10 really dampen the recoil in my experience.

I had it bad for the Super X, and the A5 back in the mid 70's. Never got either of them. SBE II is supposed to have taken care of the shortcomings of the 1st gen. That's about all I know of them. The gunshop I deal with tells me that Benelli is a real handful to deal with, and that they won't. So I'm pleading my case here.
