I am unable to scope my ranch rifle because of the aftermarket sights I installed....They don't fold down.
The medium rings ruger sent with the rifle are not high enough......how high are the high rings ?....what about the extra high rings?.....who sells them besides ruger?

I had to do some fudging to fit my scope on my Ranch. It just barely clears but its held up. Find out exactly how much more you need before it clears, then order what you need. Don't go too high!

Do yourself a favor and get a Weigand scope rail on the Brownell's site. Ruger's lame scope mounting system is proprietary, meaning you'll be stuck paying them and only them $50 for each lousy set of rings. They know that, which is why they include those Medium rings which won't allow any but the smallest diameter scopes to clear the handguard.

BTW, I'm sure you already know this, but my advice is to put the most durable scope on the gun that you can obtain. Minis are notorious for quickly sending ordinary scopes up to Optics Heaven.

I learned the hard way that if you un-package the included Ruger rings, they won't exchange them for higher ones. What buttholes. The Weigand mount offers Weaver-style mounting, which will allow you to buy multiple sets of cheap, generic Weaver-style Tasco rings for experimentation or multiple scope set-ups.
