Hi guys! I am kind of new to the wheel gun scene, but am really gettin into it! I recently bought the wife a 686-4, with 4 inch barrel as her house gun, and she is getting better and better with it! Also just purchased the rosewood grips for her birthday (shhhhhhh)
Oh yea, my question....I have seen where you guys are able to give info on a gun by its serial number. I am looking at a used model 60 with 2" barrel. The tag on the gun says serial # is R138030, I could not find this # on the gun though. Inside the push road slot, where it says m60, there was a #97235, with a S under it. Can you tell me anything with these numbers?
The finish is good on the gun, with only a pencil point mark at the end of the barrel on the side. Slight marks on the cyl. It locks up tighter then any other revolver I have checked, with virtually no movement. The bore and forcing cone are great! The guy wants $275.00 for it. What do you think, should I grab it? I really like the feel, and the trigger pull is smooth, and at the same time crisp. What is your opinion?

The serial number is stamped on the bottom of the grip frame. The number inside the crane is an in-house assembly number and unrelated to the serial number.

$275 is a reasonable price in my world.
