Hey all, I decided write my term paper for this semester's final on the RKBA. The assignment was to take 1 current day issue, and, figure out how Jefferson would have interpreted it. So far, I have all the Jefferson and Aristotle research done, and broken the argument down to 3 points:

1-All men are created with the inalienable rights of Life and Liberty (truncated to keep what is important)

2-Government is created for the purpose of protecting these rights

3-And it is the right of the citizens to remove this government when it becomes destructive

Now. I chose those 3 points of the Declaration of Independence (with signifigant backup from the Letters) because they map well to the purpose of the RKBA. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find an official typeof website that explicitly puts out these points, and was hoping someone here had one close by.

ALSO-- After I justify the RKBA based on Jefferson, I have to bring light to the current situation, and how we are doing. I was wondering if anyone has any articles (1 from each side if possible), where the author analyzes the current day situation.

Thanks for the help guys, and I will absolutely post it when its done! (already 2 pages in.... good grief...)

Note: IF at all possible, a JPFO article would be best (as the Professor is Jewish, and GRAVELY anti-gun). I have been searching their site for the past few hours, and havent found anything, but I was hoping one of you would have something book marked.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if it'll help but you might look at David Kopel's article The Torah and Self Defense (http://www.davekopel.com/2A/LawRev/The-Torah-and-Self-defense.pdf) (.PDF file).
