"While he acknowledged some errors in the book, Bellesiles said the content was fundamentally sound."

I like that. Though I have no evidence whatsoever to back up my ideas, they are definately true! True, I tell ya!

Quote: "I have never fabricated evidence of any kind nor knowingly evaded my responsibilities as a scholar," he said.
"Arming America" contradicts the long-held belief that the United States has always been a gun-oriented culture.

That self-style "historian" was too stupid to notice the American Revolution was fought—and won—by armed insurrectionists.

Leftists are to America as the A.I.D.S. virus is to health!

First the investigation isn't in his favor and he resigned from Emory.

Second the Bancroft Award is rescinded and now he has to give his $ back.

Now, for third his book should be pulled off the shelves.

Hey, that would make Bellesiles a three time loser.:D

I checked the Brady Site and the Demo Underground and the other "usual suspects". The same ones that ran the Bancroft award for the book as big news, back when it said what they wanted it to say.

None of them seem to have anything to say about Bellisle resignation or the rescinding of the award. Big surprise, huh?

It's not what really happened it's the fact that he meant to do the right thing.

I love the way the article closes, with an emphasis on the phony proposition the book was engineered to support and not on the issue of the fact that a panel of his peers judged his premise and scholarship to be fatally flawed.
