I got the 8 3/4 Super Redhawk .44 Magnum. I want to change the grips on them so that I can get more control of it.
Any recommendations?

You're right, it's 7 1/2.
It has the Rosewood Grip Panels. I would like something with rubber and sturdy.

I've been shooting my SRH for a long time (10+ years) and found no reason to change the factory grips. Actually, this is the only handgun I have where I didn't change the grips.

Well depending on your hand size depends on grips hogues are to small for my paws but pacs fit well ... I use pacs on my 454 casull SRH and on my 44 stock are good but need soemthing bigger

The stock Ruger grips are nice to look at, but blasting those 44 mags put that trigger guard banging on my knuckles. I switched to the 1 piece Hogues and the problem was solved.

GUNKWAZY:
What exactly gave the high polish to your SRH?
I'm asking because I'm getting that same gun/grip combination come early 2005 ( can you say TAX RETURN?! :D ) and I'll be sending it in to a metalworker that can stain the stainless finish. It'll come out BLACK, but I intend to send it to him UNFIRED and NIB to get the best finish possible on the gun.
If you can fill me in on the brand of polish and technique used to get it that way ( even if it's SimiChrome and an old sock! ), at least I'll know and be able to tell him what was done prior to his doing the work.
Thanks a LOT. That's an exceptionally nice looking SuperRedhawk you've got there!

I usually stir up a slew of responses once I start posting my polish pictures.
All I can say is I do it ALL by hand. NO Buffers or machines are used. I use Mothers Mag polish. It takes a long time to do it all by hand, but you don't round any corners and the results to me are well worth the extra effort.
