OK, I know there are varying opinions on this gun but when I saw the Smith and Wesson Thunder Ranch .44 in American Handgunner, I had to have one. After nearly two months of waiting, I picked it up last night.

I've not shot it yet so I can't give you range report. I can tell you that it is a beautiful gun, blued to an almost black finish. The grips are great--they fit the hand and the gun has great pointability.

Here are some pics:

Good for you! I drooled over that article too.
Is it going to be mostly a safe queen or are you going to take it out to play often?

I can't afford to have guns I don't shoot! I may even carry it if I can find some leather that won't bankrupt me.

The Thunder Ranch logotype isn't large enough to hide the gun.

I just saw my first one today. It has got me thinking of doing what you did.

Nice piece.

Enjoy,

An imminently practical carry firearm. PLEASE shoot it and don't let it become a safe queen. Honorable wear from carry is not to be ahamed of.
