I'm about to pick up the parts for my next project, and I've been looking at the Ed Brown products pretty closely. I've heard a lot of good things from them. I've also heard that Springfield Armory MilSpecs have a weird frame design that makes it impossible to use the 0.25" rounded beavertails. I've also heard that this is merely true of the Professionals, and that the MilSpecs are standard.
What's the truth? What radius, and by extension what grip safeties, can I use with me SA MilSpec?

Here is my experience....I'm sure someone out there knows more than me....
I just fit a Ed Brown Grip safety to a Mi-spec .250 radius, there is a slight gap at the top where the tangs meet the safety. This is cosmetic and doesn't affect the operation of the GS at all (on mine). I think the problem is the tangs are narrower on Springfields, I have also had this problem with 1 Caspian I built, but only on 1 side of the frame. This was fixed by lying in a couple beads with my wirefeed welder on the low portion then blending it back smooth and clean to the tangs and safety. This fix is also workable for the gap in your Mil-spec. To avoid all of this......Smith&Alexander makes a .220 GS & filing jig that allows the tangs and GS to meet up cleaner. I have also heard, (I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE!!!) that a Wilson will fit up on a Mil-spec springer.
Hope it helps

Thanks. Who sells it? The only S&A GS I see is one that includes a jig for a 0.25" radius.
