Anyone ever order a surplus Mauser barrel off the internet? Need to find a good one.

surplus barrel you find for it is likely is as bad or worse shape than what you have.... that's why it's surplus.... occaisionaly you'll find a "new old stock" surplus barrel but these may or may not headspace correctly once you screw it on. Several comanies make pre-threaded semi drop in barrels for mausers that are of "decent" quality and cheap.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a new pile of them, kinda like all the new in wrapper USGI 1903 barrels I keep seeing. Its a K98, by the way. That's probably important.

Numrich Arms has 'em. I think Sarco does too. I deal with Numrich when I need anything like that though. If they send me something that doesn't measure up to the standards they touted, I can send it back.

I was just reading a thread on another forum where a guy used a CZ mauser action rebarreled with one of these heavy barrels, and it shot sub MOA easily.
So they must be decent barrels. They have sporter weight also.
