I have two questions. First, having seen them being sold for roughly $100 is this a good price? If not then what is?
Second, what exactaly is the round used in them? I have noticed 7.62x25 and 7.65x25, or is there a model for both.

Now for all you people who are thinking of telling me how the gun is a piece of crap, buy american, or get a bigger gun, please save your time and energy and go post somewhere else.

First.

I doubt that you will attract any detractors to your handgun choice here!!

Most us us, including myself, have at least one copy of this fine pistol. ;)

Second.

The proper ammunition for the gun is 7.62X25. Which means it is a 7.62mm diameter bullet and the case length is 25mm.

Third.

Congratulations on your new gun!! :D

We need a range report and some pics!! :scrutiny:

I haven't ordered it yet, but I should have one by the end of the month.

I pretty much guarentee that no one is going to get on here and tell you the CZ52 is a piece of crap.
I have two of them and they are fine quailty handguns.
You will no doubt be pleased with yours.
I would like to have one with adjustable sights however.

If you pick up your brass pack yourself a lunch for the journey to find it. :D

Try to find one locally and see if you like the grip. I was going to order one, but as soon as I handled it, I knew I wouldn't shoot it much.

But, for $100, who cares I guess.

And yes, $100 is a good price.

I have a CZ 52 and the Chinese 7.62 version of the Takerov. CZ is much better!

Almost bought another CZ that came out of an estate. Guy had it worked up very nicely. Extended/ported barrel, nice wood grips, action smoothed up. Shop in southern VA had it for $170 I think. I really doubt that would have covered the barrel and grips! Didn't want to deal with getting it shipped to my FFL though.

They are a great gun and for the money an AMAZING deal!!!!

Hope you enjoy it!

Fun little boomer.

Recoils like a nine, sounds like a forty.

I put aftermarket plastic grips and a Hogue Handall on it. That greatly increased the pointability and overall feel of the gun.

For $100, it's hard to go wrong.

And that little .30-caliber pill fairly scoots. Bring an accomplice with a keen eye. You'll need him/her to chase your fired brass as it heads towards the next county. ;)

Wood grips are a nice touch.

Pee Ess: Don't trust the decocker function of the CZ-52 safety lever. :(

Then the grip split and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet. May be the most fun pistol I own. I wish someone would offer a modern 7.62X25, would be a hella mouse gun.

I have 2 and like them. I also have an extra slide that has been modified to fit sig 226 sights. I am going to put a set of adjustable Millets on that.

I am considering another , because I am going to try to mount a scope on one. I just don't want to mess up either of the 2 that I have in case anything would go wrong.

It would be great if some "modern" pistol would come up with this chambering. I would also like to see someone besides S&B/Winchester do a boxer primer.

Well I just ordered it about three hours ago. The package comes with the pistol holster and an extra mag. I also acquired 140 rounds for about $20.00. However I am currently unable to locate anybody who sells mags on without a gun with it.

Silent-Snail,

I think you are going to enjoy your new weapon. I own two of them, and they are definately a hoot to shoot. :D Just remember to NEVER dry fire it. The firing pin is very prone to breakage. There are after market companies who make replacement pins that are much more durable than the originals. You can get mags from www.cdinvestments.com, for $15.00 for the good used mags, or $20.00
for new factory mags. You can also get S&B ammo from www.natchezss.com, for $7.82 a box of 50 rounds. All in all, they are the best deal out there for a quality weapon. Good luck with your new acquisition. :)

I also have a CZ-52. Very cool gun and cartridge.

One problem I ran into was that one of the two magazines I got along with the gun field stripped itself while I was shooting. It is not cool when your floorplate, mag spring, and remaining rounds launch themsleves at the dirt.

I bought two new mags from CDNN and they work great.

I too have two of these fine pistols, and also one of the Chinese (junk) versions. I love them, my son also has one and loves to shoot it. They're accurate, and recoil is not bad at all.
I was wondering about those grips Gewehr98, did you make those yourself?
