I'm looking for something other than the LaRue Tactical mount for my EOTech 512 that will allow me to raise the optic high enough to be able to mount the sight more forward than this http://www.cmmginc.com/cmmg_images/tbl_images/optics_images/EOTech_L.jpg
and still be able to cowitness. I would like to have a LaRue mount, but I don't have a need to detach the sight all the time, and that mount is expensive. Is there a half or full spacer that would allow me to raise it high enough to not interfere with the handguards?

while I can't answer your question GlocksRock, would you mind if I piggybacked one on it?

A friend is presently in Kuwait soon to be Iraq, and he's asking about a mount to allow an EOTech to be mounted forward of an A2 carry handle. I know ARMS makes one.. anyone have good or bad experiences to relate to that one, or is there another he should consider?

No problem, and that's a good question, but I don't know the answer. However, I do know that A.R.M.S. makes good high quality stuff, I have an A.R.M.S. #40 BUIS, just like the one pictured, and it's great. How far forward from the carry handle does he need it mounted?
