Was the Ithaca 37 design ever fitted with a bayonet attachment?

Remember an article in American Rifleman(I think), a few years ago, about military shotguns....99.99% sure they showed one with a bayonet on it. I'll see if i can put my hands on that issue.

Yes.

Pics of a M37 with the standard military bayonet lug can be found on pages 266-267 of Swearengen's "The World's Fighting Shotguns" volume IV.

The M-37's I saw in Nam had no barrel shroud nor bayonet mount. They had bead sights in 60's, a few had Deer Slayers set ups later in 1970-71. I never saw another brand of Military Shot gun over there. :) edit- I take this back! I did see quite a few others, the Savage 67a I think was fairly common and the High Standard Flite King was also around. I ALSO saw in the Military arms room, when I went into the army in 65 (ROTC before this) model 12 Winchesters, but not in Vietnam as I remember. :)

the USAF had Win. M12's and some Stevens M620's for police use in the 1960's.
