Which .45

Just curious which one had the bigger following and why. Seems to me that the USP following has gone down in the last year and I just wanted to see if I was right.

Your poll includes a Glock, but not the SiG P220?

I don't which has the "bigger following" but, my G21 follows me around from time to time..;)

I accidently hit "other" when I meant to hit 1911 - was in a hurry and didn't see it listed at first.
So add another vote for the 1911.

I voted for the basic Colt 1911 .45ACP as my favorite, but I also like the Glock 21. Go figure.

I'm a 1911 shooter, but I like the look and feel of the SIG P220 and would like to try a Glock 21 sometime, too. :)

I've owned all of the options in this poll (although I haven't stumbled across an "other" ;) ). I've sold them all off now and only have HK's in this caliber.

I feel you can't go wrong with any of these. Some are overpriced and some are priced just right. All of them are reliable, tough, accurate, and would rely on any of them to defend my life with.

I voted the Glock 21 because I feel its one of the most underrated pistols out there.

As far as a "following" I'd put it in this order:

1. 1911 (Colt, Kimber, SA)
2. Sig Sauer P220/P220ST
3. H&K USP/F
4. Glock 21
5. CZ-97

Had to vote 1911 but I'd take any of the ones listed.
Never had a SIG and I've never even held one . . . guess I gotta get to the gunshop.

1911 and .45...they go together like mom and apple pie. (Although the P220 is the best DA .45 money can buy.)

Glock 30, so, "OTHER"

I keep noticing that number 220 on billboards and license plates and serial numbers on dollar bills. My bathroom scale goes up to 220 lbs.

A girl smiled at me yesterday, who had to weigh at least that much. My checkbook balanced out at x220.00.

220 is almost exactly three times my height in inches ....

I might be getting a message from beyond ...

SA Champion, because I have one and love it.

I like the HK USP45c, and hope to buy one when I squirrel enough money away.

But the 1911 has me hooked.

The grips on the USP is just too fat for me to get my admittedly smallish hands around solidly. I have no problem with the size of the Beretta/Taurus and even the Glock grip is sized better for me though still uncomfortable. SIG is too top heavy and seems to have too high a bore axis.

That leaves the 1911. A decent carry trigger job, ramp and throat polished, about 5 Wilson mags and nothing else compares. Or an out-of-the-box Springfield Professional would work very nicely as well.

The grips on the USP is just too fat

Yeah, for me too and I can't remember anyone confusing me for a small person. I like the idea of a reliable accurate gun however so I am considering forcing myself to buy one to see if I can become accustomed to the fit over time. I have no idea if this is even possible? I think I could adapt for range/target use but the self defense aspect of unaimed shots using an improper fit gun doesn't fill me with confidence.

If it doesn't work out then I can trade the thing for two 1911's! Hehhe, then I'll be real happy.

H&K is the best there is...and worth every cent. No hassles, accurate and beautiful.:D Only thing better is a Beretta.:D :D :D

I guess I'm different, but I do like the Smith & Wesson 645/745 models especially. (My home defense gun is a pampered, very accurate and reliable 645.) However, I've never been overly enthusiastic about the 4506, with its humped grip and "creepy" trigger, and always wondered why the previous design was dropped after just a couple of years.

Wooooow, nice collection, cratz2.
I thought it would be a landslide, but it's worse than I thought.
I voted for USP, since USPc was not an option.
I have a 1911, it's just not a .45

Anyway I picked it up earlier. One problem though I can't figure out how to get the slide off fast. Yeah I know I'm a moron but I've never had problems with anything before but I'm working at it.:)I can't get it the entire way off so I've tot to change my handle on it abd use another finger to stick it through. Oh well it still works

I too have owned one of each of those pistols. Of them I had an old style Sig 220 (before they "improved" the frame) that fit me perfectly. The old style checkered grips and a factory trigger job.
I sold it like an idiot:banghead: and am now stuck with the HK Tactical and a very nice Kimber. Of the guns I owned I thought the old style 220 was my favorite but since you cannot get them that way anymore I'd have to go with the 1911.
