Want to do some bird hunting or try some sporting clays? Looks like you already have the HD angle covered well.

What next on the shotgun list

To come down and shoot your Benelli with the HS/LC crew.

Other than training, ammo, range time and all that good stuff you need to buy spares to both shotguns. Your spares need spares.

Your backup 870 needs it's own backup. The backup Benelli needs a backup as well.

Just because they're there, I've been debating the TTN Colt 1878 hammer double. The folks over at the SASS board seem to think they are the bees knees. I've been thinking about a double for a while...

The mind is willing. The wallet is weak. :)

Is it OK to back up a 870 12ga with a 870 20ga?
:p

Yeah , then your supposed to back up the 20 with a 28, that leads to a .410. :D

28 ga is better than supposed to be, that short shot string dealie.

Hey - a nice SxS would be a great SG to have.

Oh heck...just get them all....collect the whole set I say. :p

Duke -

What is funny is having a bunch of guys, from various shooting sports using Single Shot Shotguns to hunt wabbits in the snow...

The adults used the Single Shots, kids could use whatever they wanted...we adults were having fun taking the kids and watching the dogs.

So we have Skeet, Trap , Sporting Clays, 3 gunners- you name it. "shucking, jerking triggers, cussing" and everything else to get a second shot off.

Wabbit "hops" past 4 adults that miss, the dogs eventually come back and give "that look", the kids were laughing ( until some adults reminded them they had the keys to vehicles - kids would have a long walk home) .

Hey - I can do single shots fine, I was toting a .410, my main deal was teaching and supervising a little girl on her first hunt...

Seriously - you guys need to grab some SS and try some shooting with them.
Remember - many homes only had a H&R Topper to defend the home and put food on the table.

"Beware the man that has one gun - he knows how to use it".

Yeah we want Pics and a write up too.

:D

I agree.

Never owned one, but shot a few and am unsure of make/model/vintage as I was just getting acquainted to firearms at the time (about 15 years ago). Very fun.

I've been toying with the idea of picking up a SxS as I'd like to apply what I know now.

The one shotgun that I DID have the most fun with was an 20ga bolt action. Heck, I wish I took the time to find out the manufacturer.

Mossberg perhaps. Seems to me a fella I used to shoot with back in the old day had one as you described - neat gun!

Yeah, we are to have fun with all this stuff - sometimes we forget.

What next? Heck, 45R, there's a panapoly of shotguns out there just waiting on you.

Try an 870 WM for clays or small game and birds.

Get a SS just because.

So many shotguns, so little time.....

Poor Skunk...

Would someone that lives nearer to Skunk please send him some snow?

Post a pic of wabbit hunting , any kind of hunting in the snow.

Then again you folks that get a LOT of snow could always send Skunk a plane ticket and let him clear your walkway and driveway with his tactical carbon fiber shovel. :neener:

Darn right we want pics if he does .

Skunk, I'd be more than happy to let you use my show blower (you do know what a snow blower is? right?).
Just come to Michigan and we'll be more than happy to help you experience a real winter. :D :p :D

Huh?

The snow that I used for my snow cones were all yellow.

Am I missing something here?

Inside joke?

Dangit - 'nother reason to add one more to my list ... somehow, I don't mind at all- :p

You've convinced me that I need a Herstal Auto-5 (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=118409) like TheOtherOne's written about, to back up my Model 11.

Rupestris: after John Moses Browning and our own JohnBT, I like John Deere the best: a tractor's even more to my taste than a snow blower (I got to plow the driveway again today). I don't miss shoveling it. :)
