I'm thinking of moving to NH in the near future but am a bit unclear about whether cities, towns, counties, etc. can pass more prohibitive gun laws than what is stated in the state law. I've read some conflicting reports. It appears from packing.org (http://www.packing.org/state/index.jsp/new+hampshire) that local ordinances cannot take away your ability to legally carry concealed. Can somebody tell me if this is true?

I've lived in Chicago in the past, and I don't want to move back to a home rule state.

Any info would be much appreciated!

I've never heard of a single instance of a municipality attempting to enact an ordinance contrary to state firearms laws. If there are, I'd bet on Nashua or Portsmouth, and my reaction would be

A state preemption law was enacted earlier this year.
