Any of you with the .204 Ruger?

Nope. But the .204 sure looks to be the best varmint round going right now. Better ballistics than the .223.

As far as their rifles go, it's the same old story. A far superior design with far inferior fit and finish.

That also depends on the size of the varmints. The .204's claim to fame is velocity, but I haven't checked the balistic tables for it. Being so light I don't know if that limit's it's range somewhat. Still, it should be very flat shooting for a way at least.

I like the versatility of the .243 WSSM. Bullet weights from 55-110 grains, velocities up to 4000 FPS, and enough power to take down deer if you want. You can even fit it in an AR-15 platform, the PCR-8 Mag (http://proxify.com/p/011110A0000110/http/www.olyarms.com/pcr8mag2.html) (which I'm saving up for).

Saw a recent show on The Outdoor Channel about a prarie dog hunt in Texas. The .204 would take a praire dog at 300 yards and toss it up in the air about 4 feet and move it about 5 feet away. The dog didn't seem to explode when hit, it just got launched!

I love Ruger single shot rifles.

Anybody know the point blank range for the .204??

I like the .204 Ruger, but I don't really like Ruger rifles. My .204 will be a CZ

I love Rugers... I have 4 myself. Hope to add a few more.

The .204? I have a buddy that bought one and loves it. He said it doesn't have hardly any recoil so you can see the whole ordeal right through your scope better then any other varmint gun he has shot.

I haven't shot it yet.

But as far as I'm concerned, the .204 Ruger should be nothing more than a passing fad. It will probably be eclipsed by the upcoming .12 Remchester, which promises even flatter shooting and markedly improved ballistics over the larger bores. ;)

I've got a single six, and a 77/22. Very nice bolt action.

I also like the single shots - the Ruger #1. My Dad has it in 30-30, it shoots very well.

Will you buy an American or Varmint CZ in .204?http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/897801/kev27a.JPG

I do have a couple of #1's...but the jury is still out on the .204 for me. In varmint calibers the Fireball, .223, .22-250 AI and .223 WSSM are more interesting.

Of course, the first time I see a #1 in .204 with really nice wood, I will lust for it and buy the damn thing :D

Hard to say which 527 I'll get. I'm having to decide between the American with a sunset camo laminate, or maple stock. Decisions!

I have a CZ 527 in .223, that is a pleasure to shoot.

That being said, I also have a Ruger #1 in .270 that's incredibly accurate.

They're both good guns and a lot of fun.
