I've been shopping for a varmint gun for years. I wanted the best ballistics I could get. I had originally settled on the 220 Swift but while I was still trying to find a gun to go with it the WSSM mags came out.

After comparing ballistics and reviews I decided what would best fit my needs/desires would be the .243 WSSM. Then something cinched it. Oly Arms came out with the PCR-8 Mag cambered in the WSSM rounds. The range of a varmint cartridge, the power of a game cartridge and in a package only slightly heaver and not really any larger, than an AR-15. What's not to love?

Now I just need to come up with the $$$. I do already have dies, brass, bullets, powder and primers. Just need to get that gun to shoot them in ;) Might even get a single shot or bolt gun in .243 WSSM later to compliment the semi.

I'd have to say that the .25 WSSM is a nice choice. I'd rather have it based on the .308, but you take what you get.

But I'm eagerly awaiting the .325 WSM...Money notwithstanding,I hope to get one at some point. Goes along with the 8x57 Mauser I have, and the 8mm-06 AI I'm building.

I've been shooting a TIKKA T3 270 WSM for about a year now, and I'm impressed enough to let it stay in the stable along side my M70's in .308 and 30/06.

I Have a 300 WSM in a Browning and think it's just fine. I got in order to reach out and touch something with it and, it being the latest and so called greatest at the time had something to do with me buying it also. However in hindsight, I wish I would have got another .30-06 intead, I seldom, if ever, need the capabilites of the WSM cartridges. Do I have anything against them? Not at all.

i've bought guns without a reason even that good before... sounds to me like you needed the gun pretty bad. worst reason i ever bought a gun? friend of mine went shooting w/ me one day, and left his ammo in my truck - all 8 rounds of it. decided i'd better get something so i could dispose of the ammo (all 8 rounds) - so in came another new remington...
