Hey guys I'v been looking around the fourm for about the last eight weeks and I will say great fourm. This is my first post and have a ? I bought a Norinco 1911A1 off of a guy at work I would say it in85to 90% condition .How well are these guns made and are they good shooters.Bought the gun and 5 boxes new Winchester 185 grain silvertip hollow points for $175.00.I Think I made a good deal but what would the gun be worth by itself. I plan on going out this weekend and see how it shoots.

My Norinco 1911A1 never failed me in live fire, for about 500 rounds. What did bother me about it was the ease in which the frame rusted. It seemed to me that carrying the pistol for 18 hours without a silicon cloth wipe-down would invariably result in rust. However, after my experience with a temperamental Auto Ordnance 1911A1, I wish I'd never sold the Norinco.

The best I have ever been able to do is $275 on a Nork in that condition.
I got one for $200 but it is need of a total refinish.

Typically they go for between $300 to $400 most common seems to be about $375

They are excellant guns.

You need to go over to 1911 owners group (http://www.1911og.org/forum/index.php?) The have a Norinco dedicated section

And to that other 1911 forum and rep[ly to JimV's Norinco poll

That's a heck of a deal. I found one at a gunshow a year or so ago (for considerably more than that). It doesn't have the nicest finish in the world, and it's Chinese....but I have to say that I prefer it to the Colt's and Kimbers I've owned. It's a serious piece of steel that functions perfectly (even with $5 mags) and is as accurate as I let it be. I don't mind the finish really....it's one less thing to worry about. I could use it as a hammer if need be.
Use the search function to look up Norinco. They have a pretty good rep.

And they clean up nicely.

In my opinion, the gun you bought is junk. Wrap it up and send it to me to save you all the trouble you are going to have. :D
Actually, you bought a better WWII 1911A1 clone than Colt made recently!
I'd love to find one at a good price. Every time I see one for sale it is $400+
I'm still looking for one of those $175 deals.
