Before you read this realize my dislike of the glock is not because its a fad it just feels like it to me. Hence why a perfectly good gun is in the "say something nice thread."

Well I have seen all you wonderful people praise glock and 1911. I generally hate them because I tend not to like fads. Many of the people I talk to about glocks act like there is nothing else in the world and it reminds me of bell bottoms. They always seem to be a staple. I think its time for all to see that I do see the good qualites, and I can post later the there are good things. I ask for you to join as well and say something nice about certian guns you would like to see melted down.

1. High point - (jesus I cant believe Im going to say anything good) its cheap?

2. Ruger P-89 - Its solid metal and I can beat the snot out of it, the slide release is better for lefthanders then a puch button ever will be. Ohh and I wont cry if I break it because mine was free.

3. Makarov - (I own one) its Russian? naa its a good gun for the day and really makes me work on magazine changes etc. It also makes me very thankful for advances in firearms.

4. AR-15 - They are pretty accurate and some people have shown me that they can keep theres from jamming like most M-16s do. Besides the look nice

5. GLOCK - I dont hate you glock, I hate the people that tell me your the best because "cops use them" "they havent shot anything else" "they are made in america" "no other gun could possibly deal with there stress test" "you gotta get one in a 40mm because 9s are for pussies." I love that you have the same basic safety concept as my P99. Your reliable even in the worset possible care (normally). Your light and functional. My ex SEAL and Spetsnaz aquaintaces own one so they cant be all that bad. You lasted longer in Iraq then the Berreta did.

Ok I feel better..... and will never admit that again hahaha

Any guns you hate for whatever reason?

I don't think a handgun that has served with distinction with military, law enforcement, and civilians throughout the world for nearly a century is a "fad" ;) .

Nylon 66 - a fine shootin' light little rifle. But I took one down wayyyyy to far for cleaning once and left my manager with a note and a plastic baggy of parts. Only weapon I've ever found I couldn't reassemble.

It is my nemesis........... :scrutiny:

BAH I know GLOCK's are not bad, but they are cheap and rasonably reliable. They have flooded the market like japanse cars. I love me some japanse enginering and competive prices, but I will always have a soft spot for the wonderfully crafted car.

That said I forgot one.

1911's - Your saveing grace besides they look awsome and are a 45. Kimber redeams all the malfunctions I have seen in the 1911, by making it a quality piece of equipment that doesnt jam like so many of the nock offs, and originals. (Had a bad taste after I saw 6 in a row jam at a combat shoot)

Sorry Inferno, but I think you lost almost everyone's attention to the remainder of your post when you called the 1911 (and the Glock for Glocksters) a fad.

I find it difficult to hate inanimate objects myself. If it works for you, use it. If it does not, don't use it.

If you get a defective product, say what was defective about it, so the rest of us know what to look for.

I hate the Ar15....I have hated it since I was in the military...I hate that weapon MORE than I hate the color brown...

I hate it more than I hate nascar...

I hate it more than I hate HHH...

I hate the ar15 MORE than liberals do...

I hate it more than I ever thought I could possibly hate an inanimate object...

If I were a target shooter I would love it...I am not...Therefore I hate it...

"you gotta get one in a 40mm because 9s are for pussies."

Seriously! I hate Glocks because of the grip angle, trigger, and sights, but I'd get one if I could get it in 40mm. Do they make it in the 'C' model? Might be necessary to save your wrists...

Ruger: Its inexpensive and reliable

Taurus: They make good copies

Magnum Research: The Desert Eagle (Deagle) is cool to look at.

Glock: Well, wait... I actually like Glock. Got a G23 keeping me company rite now. Next!

HK USP: They're reliable, very popular, look cool. I just don't shoot them well.

Para Ordnance: They make 1911's. At least they look good.

Walther PPK: James Bond's gun always worked cuz its the movies.

1911's a fad? Like anti biotics or electricity? There are some firearms I don't shoot well or don't care for but really when they've proven themselves over time and generations of loyal users, I don't think that qualifies as a fad ;) :D

Jennings Pistols: (no relation) You never have to clean them. You just throw them away after you finish a couple boxes of ammo.

Glock makes very good handguns, just not for me. I have shot a couple; however, Gaston's offerings don't fit my hands well.

I like the 1911-A1 type handguns, and I have even owned J. M. Browning's last design, the P-35 [AKA Browning Hi-Power].

The very small Ravens, Jennings, etc...not for me. Would have a better chance of hitting target by throwing such weapons, rather than firing said weapon in the normal manner.

Never been a fan of S&W autos, any of 'em. Ergonomically & mechanically I just can't bond with them. OTOH, I've owned Smith revos that were gifts from heaven, and others that resembled Rossies.

I'd pretty much agree with riley with the exception of the smith and wesson 39-2, i may be biased cause i own one but to me they are the prettiest smith auto out there.

I dislike glocks because of no external safeties. Decocker or crossbolt or a hammer. Same reason I "lent" my Sigma .40 to my dad and told him he can keep as long as he cares. This doesn't mean I hate them or think that no one else should like them. Plus I think they are over priced too, but that is my opinion too.

I do like 1911's but I currently don't have one, not exactly on my priority list, recently I have been able to have the money to purchase a few firearms a year and I am buying what I think fits a need for me, when that list is done, I will get the extras.

The AK is very worldly looking
Glocks are warm to the touch and simple to operate
"High Point" sounds very positive
Rugers look durable yet bouncy
Remington rifle stocks are shiny enough to use as a signaling device
S&W stainless revolvers don't lose any bluing with use
Colt revolvers make me appreciate the good value of S&W revolvers
