Huge dustup at San Francisco PD...
Zander

The head of the SFPD and nine others have been indicted by a grand jury for coverup of abuse of force involving the son of the SFPD's #2 man.
Of course, it involves the 'King of San Francisco', the noted crook [and no stranger to abuse of power himself], Willie Brown.

This one looks to get real nasty but the system is trying to protect its own and its power base...

That's gotta be some kind of oxy moron...a PD in a PC city like SF? ...and to chief of that PD?

The current "chief" is Willie Brown's pet stooge...and a complete idiot to boot.
The real "Chief" is Willie. And that's what's got everybody scared, everybody *knows* it.
High-LARIOUS!

It's nice to see the bosses get caught playing their dirty little games. :D
I wish it happened more often.

I'm sure the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals will decide it's okay for cops to beat people up and cover up the facts.

Wonder how this will play out... somewhere, a PR firm / political machine is busy figuring out the answer.

I am loving this Zander, I really am. :D
All businesses cover up for their pet employees, so does Le.
I love it when they get caught and exposed. However, this is the first time I have seen a local DA with the courage to get them indicted.
I dearly wish we could clean house in the same manner at my PD.
The indicted commanders didn't resign, they took "Leaves of Absence" until this legal matter is finished.
In their minds they did nothing wrong, so they won't resign just yet.

From the above-linked article:
Also speaking at the press conference called by Hallinan was state Attorney General Bill Lockyer.
Sanders asked Lockyer on Friday to determine whether Hallinan had abused his power in going to the grand jury, as a step toward possibly voiding the indictments.
Lockyer said he hoped to complete his review of Sanders' request within 10 days.
The heat is on.
On trial.

Lockyer (D) may try and cover up for Willie (D).

...a lot of police chiefs like to use a miltary rank, so is this guy also called Colonel Sanders? :neener: And about (Slick) Willie Brown, the only thing that dude's ever used his head for was a (very stylish, I must admit) hat rack. It's a shame those nifty fedoras and panamas don't have any brains behind them!
