An uncle dropped this gun off today, he is wanting to trade/sell it and I agreed to find out what it's worth.
Colt Mustang Pockelite, .380, serial #PL035xx.
Looks to be in 90%+ condition although it needs a good cleaning.
I really don't need a .380 but the darn things so cute I just might buy it myself. :D

They are really worth $400 at the most but some people try and do get away with selling them for $500+:cuss:

Value depends on location. Isaidme's opinion is about right. I think one is worth $500 if it's operationally perfect.

Check the slide stop cut in the slide. Some get chewed up by the slide stop until they are no longer 90 degree angle. Make sure the slide locks back properly.

Slide stop is crisp, gun looks like new. Maybe I should tell him I found out it's a POS and if he gave me $20 I'd get rid of it for him? :D

Here in NY you see them in the $450-500 range , they are quite popular if you can find them due to the small size and light weight, plus it a pretty well made gun.

I sold a Stainless Mustang for $475.

They are neat guns that are about the easiest pocket carry you can come up with.

The Pocketlites command a little more. Check over on gunbroker or one of the other auction boards.

The only real problem is that they are not for extended shooting. As mentioned in a previous post, they will batter themselves with extensive shooting.

My wife carrys a Mustang Pony (DAO version) Pocketlite.

If you put good defensive ammo in em and up the slide spring to a 12 pound spring they are a great carry weapon.

Thanks for all the replies!
Called my Uncle this afternoon had had him guess what the gun was worth. He figured $150 tops. He now figures he'll just hang on to it.
Good news is he wants me to keep it in my gunsafe. :D
His son gave it to him a few weeks ago, I e-mailed him and asked if he had any more guns he wanted to give away!

I paid near $400 for one some time back. Carried it for years in a little pocket holster that also carried a spare mag. Nice little gun. I finally traded it in on a Browning HP .40 when it dawned on me that every time I carried it, I had this bad feeling that if I ever had to use it, the lil Pony would not be able to cut the mustard. Mine was the SS DAO model.

I am quite satisfied that I got a good deal. These are really great little guns, and so easy to carry.
