Collection is taking a new twist. I've decided to collect the Colt progression of military firearms. Have to do it with clones though cause I ain'trich enough to go authentic
So the question is What am I missing ?

A list of what you already have, maybe?

Collecting military Colt's is going to be challenging...they started suppling various militaries around the world in what...1850 or so?

Hmmm, was the Patterson purchased by the military?
Colt revolving rifle.
Forget the name, but the 45 cal. swing out revolver of WW1.
Colt Officer's model .38, not combat, but used for target shooting.
Uh the .38 cal Revolver used in the Phillipines that led to the requirement for .45 cal.
How about the M16.
Gotta be more.
You're gonna be a poor man, with lots of guns.

Pilots in WW2 carried .38 revolvers. Probably some Colts.
How about the M16, M4
Gotta be more.

Top to bottom
list editted out because that's half the fun of the thread

was the Patterson purchased by the military? I think so. I'm pretty sure it was issued to the Texas Rangers which is reason enough to get one
Also editted because the Patterson was issued to the Republic of Texas army

Also the Model 1909 revolver, the .38 Colt used in the Spanish-American war and the .38 Specials the Military bought during WWII.

I'm going to limit it to standard U.S. issue sidearms, for now at least.

From what I have seen these are ALL standard issue. Remember that the Army,Navy,Air Force, and Marines all had procurment, and many times there was no standardization between services.

Remember that half of the fun is in the finding!! I'm starting to believe that most of the fun is in the finding.
That's why I'm struggling to find some kind of theme, other than "Oh that looks cool".
