Gun Ownership is Affordable Justice

We are told to hand in our guns and let the police and lawyers do the work. If owning a gun becomes impossible the legal system is all that we will have to keep the scales of justice balanced. But can the police and lawyers really provide the justice?
Lets say our felon is apprehended in a $3000 burgulary. (Not to mention the fact that he probably gotten away with several more, maybe a mugging or two?) What's the cost going to be to bring him to justice?
The police who arrest him have to be paid, sure they get paid anyway, but the more crime the more cops needed and still it's a cost. He has to be held in a cell and given an attorney. The building costs money, we need another one for his trial. The trial takes away 100 pepole for jury selection, they lose work. If they are self employed they lose all together. The judge, the prosecuting attorney, his staff, the bailiff, the court stenographer, janitor, court room building all cost. And if we win it costs more to put the felon away.
All toll how much? Is it any wonder the police arent really interested in auto theft anymore?
When law abiding people own guns it is a deterrent. The courts and the police can not afford to admimster justice as it is. Disarming honest citizens is not only unconstitutional it's counterproductive.

Curious fact: it costs more to keep someone in prison for a year than it would to send a deserving young person to virtually any college in the nation for the same length of time.

Priorities?

Whenver a citizen prevents crime with a gun the press is silent. No statistics are kept on crime prevented through gun ownership.
