Im going to be joining a gun club hopefully this week.I have been putting it off for over a year but now i really want to join.My question is that my current NRA membership ends at the end of this month.I can renew my NRA membership online thats not a problem..But to join this Gun club i need to be a current member and send a copy of my NRA card.Does my NRA member number remain the same with my new card.I dont know if they would not accept me because the card says its ending at the end of the month.IF i Sign up for anouther NRA year would that be ok?.Thanks for any info.

Many clubs have it set up where you can renew your NRA membership through the club - my club has the form to renew on the back of their renewal form. I'd see if you can do that.

Most gun clubs aren't going to worry a great deal. If you copy the current card and send it in you should be fine. I believe my NRA number stayed the same, FWIW. (And I had the same issue, I was joining a club when I had to renew the NRA membership)

:confused: The last time I checked, 4 million x $25 = One Hundred Million Dollars. Then again, math has never been my strongest subject. ;)

All NRA recruiters are authorized to sell memberships for $25/year and on top of that the recruiter gets a kickback (although this may only be if the recruiter is an NRA-affiliated club or something like that).

The NRA doesn't get the extra $10.00 when you pay, it goes to a marketing firm somewhere.

The best way to do it is to sign up for renewal with someone at a gun show or at a club, as usually, they get a commission for it.

If you need proof, the NRA magazine has your name, address and expiration date on the cover. The next issue after renewing should have the new date.

That may be true. But they may also require it to be eligible for gun club/range liability insurance offered through the NRA.

I have been told that is the reason some ranges require NRA membership. Not sure, but it could be true.

I was just on the Shooting Usa site, and Jim Scouten say's he will pay $10 of your membership when you click on the NRA logo and join.

Our club requires NRA membership and has always done so as a second amendment-political thing. I believe the NRA insurance came later but am not sure. Some sort of mutually beneficial financial arrangement exists but our "Kickback" seems to be in the form of range member discounts on the NRA annual membership.
