You may remember my quandry over wether this pistol was worth getting for $299 a couple of weeks ago.

Here are some pictures of it with CDNN coccobolo grips.

Its an old model with the internal extractor.

The Hipower did not come from CDNN it was part of a collection sold by the widow of a gun collector on consignment at a local shop. The finish on it was reblued probably in the 1970's when the gun was refurbished by FN, 25 or so years ago these were probably $150 at gunshows after they were imported by Century. They are old policemens guns traded in long ago.

Mechanically the gun is in darn near new shape, the sights are the old fixed style and leave something to be desired. Today at lunch I put 80 rounds of my reloads: Berry's plated 125 gr hollowpoint 4.0 grains of titegroup, I also fired 10 rounds loaded with hornady XTP bullets, all of them fed fired and extracted flawlessly despite the fact that this gun has an internal extractor, discontinued in 1962, and is not throated to feed hollow points. All rounds were fed from 2 Asian contract highpower magazines from CDNN, bought last week like the grips.

I did a little rebluing on the front and backstrap, where the pachmayer wraparounds that the previous owner had on it wore off the finish, I replaced the grips with those you see, and replaced the recoil, and firing pin return springs with wolf springs.

the grips/magazines were from CDNN - that explains why I couldn't find Argentine HP's in the recent catalog :)

my apologies to Snake Eyes if my previous post was misleading...
