Gun related dream.

We've heard of, seen a couple of threads about and maybe even experienced the old dream of not being able to shoot when necessary. Leave it to me to find a new twist on it. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't grab my gun and pull it out of my pocket, it was like stuck in the cloth. I remember thinking(?) to myself, "Here we go, I'm fumbling with the gun and I can't get it out of my pocket." Meanwhile I'm moving so the BG can't get a bead on me. I may have dodged a bullet or two.

Anyone want to analyze that one for me?

280PLUS,

What an interesting subject. I don't know if i can help you with yours, but I think down deep, the reason I got rid of all my Glocks, is that I had a reoccurring dream where I would need to pull and shoot my Glock in self-defense and all it would do is that squishy click it does when firing on an empty chamber. I would rack/clear the round, strip a new one off into the chamber and the same thing...

...well it was nice processing this...

My latest gun dream (about two nights ago):

I was at a party or get together. The host was an avid gun collector and had many knives/swords. I was carrying. I went down a hall way to see the knives (which were in a store room with a water heater). Someone tried to come into the door but it was locked (oh, forgot to mention that the hall was glass lined) so I wanted to run away toward the other door but I started running toward the room that had the party. The Terrorist started running and then we saw each other, he pulled his gun, mine just "appreared" in my hand and we begain to fire. I ducked into another room (with no way out) and the terrorist followed. We got into a gun fight and I won. I then started to go to the main room (which turned out to be like a huge garage) and a homicide bomber shouted and everyone in the room opened up on him.

I had a dream once where I owned a minigun. Imagine my disappointment when I woke up :(

Guns are in a number of my dreams. Main problem seems to be loading them all with blanks. It'll usually work for a bit, but then I'll change magazines or something, and then I can't hit someone two feet away.

Wierdest one was packing a .44, and thwarting a convenience store robbery. Not too big of a deal, save for the fact that it wouldn't rotate the cylinder like it should, reminded me of a cheap toy. I was trying to shoot double action, but half the time I was cocking it and rotating the cylinder manually. It didn't turn me off though, it got me a little bit interested in a .44 as a carry gun.

Funnier was the carry rig. A four inch barrel, and I had it inside my pants. The holster clipped to the belt, and hung down so that the entire gun was inside my pants. Two speed loaders were on a holder carried the same way, on the same side. I don't know how I pulled that gun with pants with no elastic and a belt, or why it didn't print, but then, it was a dream.

It means you haven't bought enough guns. Dig deeper in your pockets, friend.

Years ago™ I had a reoccuring dream about once a month. In the dream I was responding to a lethal threat and after executing a flawless draw and locking a perfectly rock steady sight picture center mass I tried to squeeze the trigger only to find it locked up tight and no manner of force could budge it. I would just keep squeezing the trigger until I awoke in a panic.

After my first shooting I never had it again.

Works for me!

:D

I've never had an "unable to fire" but have had "unable to fight" where no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get my arms to move it was like they were lead. You can actually control your dreams with practice. I was finally able to force myself to fight back and those dreams also went away. I recall trying to force myself to get the gun out of my pocket but I did wake up before I could. I also recall now that the BG did not fire because he couldn't get me in his sights. It was like I was aiming at myself and not pulling the shot cause the sights didn't line up.

get a holster..a good one that allows the gun to slide freely in and out without hitting sewn seams or woven straps...and practice starting with your gun in the holster and drawing it to point of aim.afterall,if one only practices at a range and the gun is already out,why get a holster and not know its limits?

Wow, can't say I ever had a dream involving a gun, I now feel like I'm missing something. :scrutiny:

Dreamed last night I was attacked by about 7-8 feral youths, AKA gangbangers, and i had an old Smith Mod 10 38spl I haven't owned in years. Popped one, and the rest ran, and I spent the rest of the dream worrying about what lawyer to use, which justification, how to PAY for it all etc. THAT woke me up in a cold sweat.

I use to have the reoccuring dreams where I would shoot the guy like 17 times and he wouldn't die or my handgun would have a 150 pound trigger pull. For some reason they stopped. I haven't had one of those in a long time.

The only life altering event that has changed me since then is I got laid.
