I am kind of looking to buy a Ruger Convertible (9mm - 357). All the ones I have seen are basic blue with wooden grips. Does Ruger make a bright stainless version with the fake ivory grips?

For some strange reason Ruger only offers the convertible models in Blued Carbon Steel.

Davidson's (Gallery of Guns) did have some special run stainless Vaquero Convertibles a couple of years back.

Mine is blue, 5.5" barrel. I really like it though, get ya one! One day I'll have a "Made in 200th year of American Liberty" .45 Convertible to match it.

If you want a Convertible, there's one in minty condition for a very good price at my local gunshop. Call Red River Rarities at (318) 443-4405, ask for Lee, and tell him you're interested. Tell him Peter said to call.

Don't worry about the grips. A variaty can be bought off ebay or other net sites for cheap $. I've had both BH's in blue and SS. I personally like the blue flavor better. Just got a convertable but havn't had it to the range yet.

p.s If your really wanting one in SS, you can probobl buy any SS blackhawk and send it to ruger for a blued 9mm cyl install.
