I need some. There's a gunshow in town this weekend. 2 + 2 = ___
What is the going rate for your standard 50 cal can in OK shape? Any ideas? The army/navy places are always spendy, compared to what you cna get online (but then...shipping). Any idea what a 'good deal' would be at a show?
Thanks,
Mike

There is one guy at monthly local gun show (http://www.gibraltartrade.com/Shows/GunShow/index.html) that has them for around $3.00. I have bought a few, they were in very good shape and it seemed like a pretty good price. Other than him it seems most are in the $5.00 range.

Dont pay more than $5 for a really good/clean one. Anything more than that and their really riping you off.
Better yet, befriend a Marine. We were allways comeing home with trunk loads of ammo cans from different ranges. Thats why i got um stacked about 10 feet high and 2 feet deep. :neener:

yeah, $5/can for .50 cal is what I found...but if you buy 20 they'll drop it to $4/can. :D $80 for 20 cans seemed ok to me...and these were in VERY good shape. Dusty, but otherise clean, no major dings, VERY little rust and good seals.
Thanks!

Struck me as funny. Cheaper than Dirt listed them as .50 cans, but the picture clearly showed 5.56mm stenciled on the side.

i like the aluminum navy powder kegs for 21-23 dollars through cheaperthandirt.com or sportsmansguide.com. wont rust and you can bury stuff with them.
