Just got me a m1 carbine. Now I need to make a yote load for it. Anyone do any work with hollow points or soft tips?

Try 16 grains of H110 or Win 296 under a Hornady 90 grain XTP bullet in Rem cases , Rem small rifle std primer. Should get you close to 2200fps, and expands to .50" and goes thru a goat's chest. I won't shoot an edible animal with this load again ;)

Used to have one, I am still mad at myself for selling it, one of those don't ever sell a gun rule. For Coyotes I used to use the UMC FMJ factory loads, worked just fine for me, it not really a long distance rifle shot most of mine less than 50 yards.

14 gr of H110 is listed as a maximum load in Hodgdon's book behind a 110 gr. RN softpoint produces just over 1900 fps and will do a number on a coyote. Start light and work up!

I put a millet red dot sight on mine as my old eyes don't allow use of iron sights. As previously stated, not a long range rifle, but a lot of fun to shoot.
