I bought my 2nd m'96 Swede yesterday and it is a real beauty in excellent shape. It does have a few white streaks in the wood grain I would like to remove. It loooks as if it is paint or maybe tape residue. I don't want to use any thing to scrape it off for fear of damaging the wood. Will mineral spirits remove these streaks without damaging the wood? Any recommendations from those with experience is appreciated.
BTW this is a beautiful 1911 Carl Gustafs.

Thanks,

Jim
