I got this scope several years ago when I purchased a Stevens Model 416 (U S Property marked). It's a Lyman Targetspot with a serial number (?) of 8xx. Does anyone have any information on these scopes? Does it have any collector value?

The rifle has a serial number of 205,xxx, and other than a badly fitted rubber recoil pad (suitable for a 12 gauge or large caliber rifle) is in good shape.

These scopes in "mintish" condition are collected by a few people, Generally they need to have the original wooden box, tools etc. to attract any serious interest.

they were the cat's meow in their day, but about the cheapest scope on the market today has better optics and functionality.

Precursor to the Lyman "Super" Target Spot....these were top of the line scopes for competition. Looks like you are missing a few pieces....but at least the rubber eye piece is still there (most have been lost or damaged). If you have the box and all the goodies they are worth quite a bit. I paid $675 for a nearly mint Super Target Spot with box and all the papers. Yours might bring $300-$400 if all the parts were there...another $150 with box.
