Heard Anthony Swofford interviewed on NPR tonight. He wrote a memoir called "Jarhead: A Marine's Chronicle of the Gulf War and Other Battles." He was a 20-year-old sniper at the time. Mark Bowden already labeled it a classic. Anyone here read it yet?

This was on NPR? Didn't think they would cover such "brutal" subjects except to denigrate them. Was the interview balanced?

I haven't read that one yet, but I am reading 13 Cent Killers by John J. Culbertson. It's about the 5th Marine snipers in Vietnam. It's a pretty good read.
