Interested in a scope that has over 200MOA of elevation adjustment? How about a scope that automatically compensates for ammo selected, temperature, and barometric pressure? How about a scope that displays the range it is calibrated for in the viewfinder so that you only have to match the target range to the range displayed?
Looks like Barrett has filed a patent for just such a sight... and they have an existing prototype that does all these things. Future plans include a built in laser rangerfinder for 2005 and night vision, image stabilization and wide angle for 2006.

Sounds interesting, I'd be curious to see how well it works.
It also sounds heavy, expensive, delicate, complex, expensive, big, and expensive. Hopefully I'm wrong.

...over 200MOA of elevation adjustment? I don't know how they're going to build 200MOA of internal elevation adjustment into a scope and still keep the tube size reasonable. We'll see, I guess...
I would buy one, though. I'm a total scope whore. :D

Well, I haven't seen anything besides the PowerPoint so I am just making a WAG; but since the reticle automatically adjusts for temperature and barometric pressure, I am guessing that the elevation adjustment may not be actual elevation of the scope as much as it is a combination of scope elevation and reticle adjustment internally. I would think with those two, you would be able to do 200MOA.

Give it a couple years and everybody and their brother (including the chinese) will be making them and the price will only be a few hundred bucks..
Mass produced electronics can be built much more cheaply that high quality optics can....
Patents on electronics are the easiest in the world to work around.
