Is there anyone using this powder in 223 with 50 and 55 grain bullets?
Thanks

I have used this powder in my AR15. It is supposed to be identical to Hodgon BLC2. I have used 23 grains behind the 69 Grain Sierra HPBT Moly coated bullets. These are for twist rates in the 1 in 7" to 1 in 10" only according to Sierra. I used standard Winchester small rifle primers.
Check your loading manuals on the charge weight for the Hodgon BLC-2 and the 55 grain bullet. It is a dirty powder i will tell you and only used it to a limited degree in the AR15 Armalite. I like Varget by Hodgon much better.

I use alot of WC846 in my 223 rifles. Mostly for plates but for target shooting too. It is a bit dirty, but I clean my guns after every outing anyway. MY load is 26 gr behind a 55 gr bullet, and that works great for me with the lot number of my jugs of powder. I would start out lower and work up as every lot can be different. I also use it in my 308s and 243 rifles.

When I quizzed the fellow I bought my 8# jug from about wc846 being the clone of BL-C2 he replied that he heard that a lot but told me it was much closer to AA2460 and proceeded to tell me that the 2 was changed to an 8 and the 0 dropped at the end. Anyone else heard this?
Works great in my 22-250 & 7mm-08 also.

I have some and my lot seems to run a bit hot. I loaded up some 55 gr milsurp bullets in Wolf "brass" with CCI primers. I don't have my records here at work so I can't say the exact charge but it was supposed to be starting or at most mid-range of BL-C(2) and I was getting ~3600 FPS :what: mediocre accuracy and some fast and hard cycling of my M17S. The cases and primers don't show pressure signs, but the load is obviously hot. So, like it's been said. Start low and work up.
