I don't see any threads about this subject, so I'm making a new one. I hope that other people learn something too.

I am having feed issues with a magazine, and it looks like it's because there is some friction inside it. When it was new, there was grease in the housing and it appears to be dry after 250 rounds. The cartridges might be brushing too much on the sides, making it difficult for the top cartridge to move up all the way.

My dad said that Vaseline should do the trick, but I don't know if that's good for a gun. I'm hoping that you guys have some experience.

This is the MWG 50-round drum magazine for the Ruger 10/22. I might also polish the feed lips since the 10/22 has no feed ramp. The plan for that is to use a Dremel with a felt polishing tip and very light copound. Does this sound right?
