Which Sig 9mm

I'm on a hardcore 9mm kick right now and am looking into picking up a couple more pieces in this caliber.

Going against my dislike for SA/DA I may get a Sig.

Which model should I go with? It will probably be a range and possible carry gun. Right now I have a CZ75B and a PM9. Also picking up a BHP and who knows what else.

Excellent choice on starting with CZ. I absolutely love my CZ75BD (decocker).

Next = definitely get the Sig, no question.
My preferred 9mm is P226ST (I'm a big fan of stainless for my comp and range), but the alloy P226 is also highly regarded and will last for several tens of thousands of rounds without a significant loosening of frame tolerances.

I also recommend CZ P-01, but again, I'm a steel nut, so I'm waiting for the SP-01 version.

I also love my Baby Eagle in 9mm and nearly everyone who shoots it at the range are surprised they like it so much also...many quickly become owners themselves.

For range only it's hard to beat the 228/229 or 226. For carry it's a toss up between the 228 or 229 and the 239. Since the 228/229 fits into my recommendations for both categories, I'd say go with the 228 or 229. Most likely the 228 will be less expensive so go that way.

I own a 228, and my issue gun with both agencies I've worked for is a 228. Suffice to say I'm very happy with it, and find it comfortable to carry concealed all day everyday.

DISCLAIMER: I have no experience with the SigPro line, so keep that in mind if you give my thoughts any consideration.

SIG P226. The 9mm SIG Pro is also quite excellent.

I have a P228 and would definitely recommend one. Now if you ever come across a P220 9mm in good condition, and at a good price, I suggest you take it home with you. I had the opportunity to buy an "as new" one for $399.00 right after I bought my P228, so naturally I didn't need another 9mm at the time. I have to kick myself everytime I recall that one.

I'd recommend any of them with 2 exceptions...

the 239 and the 225 and here is why.

If you are a ham fisted individual, such as myself, you will find that the 239 is not that comfortable of a hand to gun fit. Too small. If you try the 225, pretty much the same thing but only because the base of the mag sticks straight out. If it had a gradual decline it would be fine. Otherwise a 225 would be my daily ccw.

That being said I would choose the 9mm in this order.

228
Sig Pro
226
220

OR if you wear a Rolex, drive a Rolls and your Korth just ain't cuttin' it.

210

For a range gun, I'd go in this order, left to right:
P226, P228, P225.

The P226 is my favorite range/match gun in 9mm.

I used to carry the P 225 on duty in my first department, and personally own a P 228 that is my range gun. IMO all of the classic P series can be recommended without hesitation.

I love 9mm Sigs. I have twin 226s one American and one W.German and a 225. The 226s get the most range time but the 225 is a joy to shoot.

Both are classics :)

Be warned. If you buy a Sig more will come.

After you have a CZ and a BHP, why on earth would you want a Sig?

I vote for the P226!

I have the ST adn regular versions, the ST is the sweetest one of the bunch, but those alloy framed guns will last just as long. My 2 alloy framed 9mm's have unknown thousands of rounds through them. They are still capable of out shooting me. Heck my alloy framed 357 Sig is only getting better (or I'm geting better with it, I'm not sure which is the truth ;) )

The best Sig ever made is a BHP. :neener:

I vote 226ST

Think I'm going to go with the P228 for starters. I'll have 2 full sizes with the CZ75 and BHP. Now if I can be strong enough to not order it from CDNN for a week or so.

The 228 and 229 are the best all around SIG's for both carry and range, if you can have only one. The 229 is heavier with it's stainless slide, but would be more corrosion resistant.

My carry piece is a P239, however - as the shorter grip doesn't dig into the back of my car seat. However, I am fourtunate enough to also have a 228 in 9mm as well.
