Where in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area I can go for target practice? I know of a few indoor ranges, the most I found here was an indoor range of 25 yrds. I'm looking for a range with a minimum distance of 100 yrds. I know that it will have to be an outdoor range but I can't find any with these kinds of distances here in town or even 25 miles outside of the Metroplex. :banghead: I've only looked in the phone book and online. But word of mouth does me no good cause I don't know anyone that goes to ranges around here. Anything would help. And at the very least if I have to go to a 25 yrd range then so be it but kind of a waste for my Remington 30-06. ;) Thanks BTW for all your guys imput when I asked about selecting a gun. I have decided on the Remington 30-06. It's a Wallyworld special but hey I needed somewhere with layaway! Anyway thanks again!!

this was posted on another forum concerning dallas;

"TargetMaster is 50 yards.

Bass Pro is 100 yards."

Search the DFW THR Yahoo group - there was a very recent thread on this.

I tend to shoot at the BulletTrap for pistol stuff and Garland Public Shooting Range for 100-yard rifle work. I should try the outdor range in McKinney or to Backwoods Traps near Denton, but I never seem to make it up there.

There are a number of places to shoot 100yds or more in Dallas. See this page for 7-8 ranges with 100yd or better shooting. Most of them are outdoor ranges... I particularly enjoy Gibsons, Tac Pro and Backwoods Traps as some of the better ranges, though I shoot at Collin County quite a bit as they allow FMJ and Backwoods does not.
