Picked up a two tone Series 80 Colt Combat Government 1911 Friday. Very clean.

I went with the Springfield Mil-Spec this last weekend. I've put 200 rounds through it and loved every one of them. Kinda funny considering I came this forum totally convinced that I needed an H&K or a Sig.

my first 3 guns of 2005 (got 'em all at the same time): rem 700 lvsf in 7-08, rem 700 lvsf in 22-250, and a rem 700 adl in 300 win mag... not sure what my first handgun of '05 is to be, but am now leaning towards a springfield xd subcompact or compact or whatever they call 'em, in 40 s&w...

It now sports:

VZ canvas grips
Kings bushing
Greider trigger
Ed Brown slide stop
Ed Brown firing pin and firing pin stop
EMC hammer
Ed Brown hammer strut
real steel MSH
real steel grip safety
real steel thumb safety
Wolff spring set

I have a Ted Yost retro sight enroute and will put on a King front sight.

I was going to get the GI but decided I wanted the larger sights. I moved here to GA from CA not too long ago, man was I surprised when it only took about 15 min before I was ready to walk out the door with my new firearm. We don't need no stinking waiting period.

I don't know if this qualifies as a handgun purchase, but I just ordered a Kadet .22 kit for my CZ75B.
