Let Down by Beretta

I was thinking of taking Skunky's advice and getting a Beretta 92FS or a Vertec. After handling some at the shop I decided to pass. The plastic trigger felt cheap. The DA pull was long and the SA was also long with a lot of creep. The plastic safety and the plastic guide rod also loooked cheap. The slide to frame fit was tight and they did have great balance. I guess I'll have to look for a used all metal 92FS.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed by a Beretta no matter if it has the plastic parts like the new ones or not. That being said, I bought a Vertec three years ago and changed the guide rod, grip screws, hammer and sights. Not because I was worried about anything, I just thought it would help it perform and look better.

I'm thinking about selling my Beretta 92F. I like it and it's a good shooter, but it's too big for anything but range duty. I haven't decided yet, but if you're interested, send me an IM.

It's an Italian made 92F with all metal parts. It has Trijicon night sights installed in '02, wood grips, 4 15 round mags (2 Beretta, 2 Asian Surplus) and 1 35 round mag. I have two holsters, a Galco Concealable and a Mika IWB. The SA trigger pull is excellent. The DA pull is good, like a good revolver trigger. The previous owner said he installed a "D" hammer spring (from the Beretta DAO model IIRC). The slide to frame fit is a tad loose, but it's accurate. I've shot 1" 15round groups at 10yds with it. In 400rnds, it's been 100% reliable. If I sell it, I'm selling everything.
